September Sweethearts – Vintage Barbie & Ken Autumn Picnic Set

Introducing September Sweethearts, a one-of-a-kind Barbie and Ken collector set from the Autumn at the Cottage collection.

Dressed in coordinating shades of deep burgundy and olive green, Barbie and Ken are ready for a romantic early-autumn picnic on campus. Their handmade fashions were inspired by the polished collegiate style of vintage Barbie and Ken ensembles, College Student for Ken, and Best Bow for Barbie, lovingly reimagined as a perfectly matched pair.

Their afternoon includes a wool plaid picnic blanket, a basket filled with miniature food, chilled sodas, badminton equipment, a guitar for Ken to serenade his love, and an assortment of tiny campus keepsakes. Among the paper accessories are class schedules, college identification, a library card, campus newspaper, love note, picnic invitation, badminton guide and scorecard—all created especially for this set.

Restoration and condition:

Both dolls have been professionally cleaned and restored. Ken’s painted hair has been carefully repainted, and Barbie’s face paint has received light, careful touch-ups.

Ken has some scuffing on his back. Barbie has a small nick along her neckline that is difficult to notice unless specifically looking for it. Close-up photographs of both areas are included for complete transparency. As restored vintage dolls, they may retain other very minor signs of their history.

Every element of September Sweethearts was chosen or created to tell one charming little story: two college sweethearts, one golden September afternoon and a picnic waiting beneath the old oak.
